The IEEE Electric Vehicles International Symposium (IEEE EVIS) is the flagship and premier conference venue forresearchers and industry practitioners in Mexico for sharing and discussing new research results and ideas in theelectric mobility field. IEEE EVIS is a research symposium held in Morelia, Mexico since 2016.The Fifth IEEE EVIS-2024 will feature high quality plenary sessions given by prominent research andindustrial leaders, technical sessions, an industrial exhibition, competitions, courses and a roundtable session.Further, the IEEE EVIS-2024 will be held in a hybrid mode with the in person program taking place in Morelia,Mexico and offering a virtual component for those that choose to participate virtually.

Location and site: The city of Morelia is located in central Mexico, at the foot of the western Sierra Madre and1,950 m above the sea level. Built in the 16 th century, the historic centre of Morelia is preserved intact and received the inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1991. Morelia occupies an important place in the history ofart and culture in Mexico. The “Conservatorio de Música de las Rosas” of Morelia was the first music conservatoryin the Americas, while the “Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo” (UMSNH) is a public university inMorelia founded in 1540 and the oldest institution of higher education in the Americas. A number of figuresassociated with the Mexican history, such as Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, José Maria Morelos and Melchor Ocampowere associated with this school.
