6th International Workshop on Cloud, IoT, and Fog Systems (and Security) — CIFS 2024
Description
In today's world, sensors and IoT devices are becoming more and more common, appearing in different parts of our lives such as agriculture, cities, and homes. This growth is fueled by improvements in energy-efficient communication technologies and computing power, giving rise to new computing concepts like Fog and Serverless computing. But with these opportunities also come challenges, such as concerns over security, deployment methods, communication standards, data gathering, and software creation. The CIFS workshop is focusing on addressing challenges in security, communication, data processing, and application development in sensor-based computing systems. Researchers and innovators are coming together to discuss recent advancements in these areas. Contributions are welcomed at all levels, from algorithms to practical experiences in deployment, to improve our understanding and capabilities in dealing with the complexities of IoT and Cyber-Physical Systems.
Topics of Interest
- IoT-fog-cloud pipelines, architectures and continuums in various domains, from industrial deployments to smart cities
- Smartness, adaptivity, fluidity and dynamicity for processing sensed data
- Computing paradigms: multi-cloud, fog, serverless, osmotic, continuum computing
- Applied cloud technology for IoT/Cyber-Physical systems, AI/ML domains, e-Health, smart cities, and digital twins
- Applications in digitalised health care, ecology, agriculture, urban planning and other fields
- Cross-border, cross-provider, and cross-stack security issues in complex computing environments.
- Artificial Intelligence Integration in the cloud-edge continuum, edge intelligence, and cognitive computing continuum
- End-to-end reliability and security concepts across IoT-fog-cloud continuums
- Privacy, scalability and economics considerations as well as trade-offs
- Security in fog/edge computing, IoT, Cyber-Physical systems, and cloud continuums
Submission Information
Submitted manuscripts must represent original unpublished research that is not currently under review for any other conference or journal. Manuscripts are submitted in PDF format and may not exceed six (6) ACM-formatted *double-column* pages, including figures, tables, and references. All manuscripts will be reviewed and judged on correctness, originality, technical strength, rigor in analysis, quality of results, quality of presentation, and interest and relevance to the conference attendees. Your submission is subject to a determination that you are not under any sanctions by ACM. Accepted papers will later be converted into single-column format through the ACM TAPS process and therefore need to use the new templates that are single-column by default. Switch them to double-column for authoring your paper. This is possible in both the Word and the LaTeX templates.
Please note: Starting in 2023, submissions and reviews follow a double-blind model. Please submit without author names/affiliations and without hyperlinks that could reveal your origin or identity.
Submission page: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cifs2024
At least one author of each paper must be registered for the conference for the paper to be published in the proceedings. The conference proceedings will be published by the ACM and made available online via the IEEE Xplore Digital Library and ACM Digital Library.
