Chinese Cultural Strategy to Enter the Markets of Latin America. the Case of Colombia Under Soft Power.

EasyChair Preprint 5416

19 pagesDate: April 29, 2021

Abstract

Soft power is a recent expansion strategy that, in contradiction to the hard power used for many years, tries to reach any corner of the world using the “fascination and sensitization” for culture and social welfare in a peaceful way. China has become the king of soft power and in this article it will be possible to show the scope that its vision of international relations has had, including its insertion in Latin America, specifically Colombia. This research will be developed from a comparative study of several historical processes in which China may have consolidated the diplomatic strategy, in order to reveal the negotiation strategy that it uses from the cultural diplomacy, in a case study.

Keyphrases: China, Diplomacia cultural, Latinoamérica, Tian Xia, relaciones internacionales, soft power
