Our analysis is focused on the production of entropy within the framework of non-equilibrium thermodynamics, taking into account the effects simultaneous of the electric field (acting on the insulator) and of the diffusion of moisture (within the channels or branches of dielectric tree). That is, considering the coupling electrical-matter transport. Due to dielectric breakdown is a clear example of a non-equilibrium process, we believe that the originality of this work lies in the combination of a stochastic model, based on the dielectric breakdown model (DBM) for the description of purely electrical contributions, together with other effects such as the diffusion of matter within the micro-channels or the presence of humidity in the insulating material. Keyphrases: Entropía, No-equilibrio, dieléctricos
