Abstract

Continual advancements in regenerative medicine, along with the emergence of tissue-engineered skin products, offer promising prospects for tackling diseases lacking permanent cures. Our research laboratory has successfully crafted fibrin-based human skin, showcasing its effectiveness in permanent regenerative therapies. By employing orthotopic grafting onto immunodeficient mice, we have established a distinctive skin-humanized mouse model, providing a platform for investigating various monogenic skin diseases. This model has proven invaluable for evaluating gene therapy interventions for cell correction, especially in the context of psoriasis, a persistent inflammatory condition. This breakthrough addresses the crucial need for dependable humanized animal models to comprehend disease pathogenesis and pioneer innovative therapeutic approaches.
